Bake's Place Ratings and Reviews
Bellevue's best live music restaurant/bar
Excellent bands and performers are brought in almost every evening for either no cover charge or a reasonable one for outstanding performers. We've taken friends, or out of town visitors or parents/ families here for both special occasions or an evening drink while enjoying a range of performances from jazz to blues to pop. The food here is adequate but the cocktails are excellent. We especially enjoy the great ambience that Bakes has. We also love that they host major sport viewing events like the NFL conference finals or the Superbowl or the world soccer finals.

Service was slow, shrimp pasta was bland, and chicken was too dry! Also, made reservations for my husband's 30th birthday but there was no recognition for it - somewhat disappointing.

I was so impressed and enjoyed the evening that I purchased a $200 gift certificate for my guests for future visits
Music makes the place vibrant
I travelled in from Austin, and wanted to spend my birthday (4/20,yeah!) with good food and more importantly good music. I found both, especially the bass and acoustic guitar duo! The only downside was the fact they deserved a quieter audience. Service was prompt despite being busy, and personable.
I was wating here before a business meeting that started at 6, so I was here pretty early and it was rather quiet, but I could tell it would be a happeneing place on a weekend. They have live music and great food. The bar wasn't all that great, but it wasn't too spendy either. Food was filling and tasty and the waitress was polite and accommodating. The location I went to, in Bellevue, was a bit hard to find, since it is located inside a business building. You'd never even know it was there unless you happen to look to your left as you were driving down 107th and saw the small sign by a set of stairs. One other good thing is they valedate parking, so you son't have to spend $10.00 or more because you were there for longer than 15 minutes!
We went for the music, but the food was excellent as well! We heard Nearly Dan, who are wonderful (and the sound system and techie are great). I was surprised by how good the food and drinks were also. We recommend - GO!
Nearly Dan Rocks!
As a grey haired rocker, the Nearly Dan performance was beyond my expectations. It was truly a night of entertainment and the group surpassed my critical ear for interpretation. The food, service and company was a night to remember. And it helped KPLU to boot!
The server was very good, that is the best thing I can say. The cocktail was good but very expensive. Dinner was really small, it tasted fine, but it was half as much as one might expect at any restaurant. We were expecting music for the early seating, but alas there was none. If we wanted to stay, we'd need to pony up 20 dollars per person. I will not be returning.
Music, Whiskey, and great food
I have come to Bakes for the music, enjoyed the whiskey & wine, and have come back for the great food options & great music! Thank-you Bakes.
Great evening out! Terrific venue with really good music. Fun as a couple or with a group
A friend recommended it and I'm glad she did. I'm used to going into Seattle to Jazz Alley and Bake's is much closer, easy parking, better food. The group doing Motown tunes just absolutely killed it. Only downside might have been the service, it seems they were a bit understaffed for a full Saturday night. Our dinner plates sat for a while before they got picked up and no one really came around to ask about dessert and coffee and such, I had to flag somebody down.
Great Music and cocktails so so food
We went here on a sturday night and paid the cover charge for the band. It was well worth it. The band is ventura Highway and they played Eagles, America and CSN The music is GREAT the food at Bakes Place is just so so . They have a good hamburger and a Pesto Pasta dish that were both good. But anything fancier the kitchen just doesn't perform well. Don't try the Salmon or either steak .
Great for live music
I brought my wife to Bake's Place for the first time on a dinner date to listen to a live band that does covers of some of my favorite classic rock. The service was great. Loved the free parking as well. We both had the burger, it was good, the dessert was very good. Would like to see more sandwich options on the menu. Sound was great, we could see everything on the stage, very intimate and comfortable way to experience live music.
Ventura Highway was great to listen to, the menu is a nice selection and it works good for a small group.
LIve music in Bellevue
I love having a spot in downtown Bellevue to come for live music and good food. We sat upstairs where it was a bit easier to have a conversation. The service was attentive, the atmosphere is nice. I'm looking forward to the summer evenings on their patio. Try the dates, they are stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in bacon, and they are good!

We were there for the live music, and that was fantastic! Lee Oskar and Friends were very talented and entertaining musicians. We had appetizers, salads, and wine. Particularly enjoyed the bacon-wrapped Medjooli dates, the caprese salad, and the Malbec wine. It was a fun ladies night!
Food was excellent
They even had gluten free options clearly listed on the menu. The mushroom risotto (GF) was totally awesome, and i added grilled shrimp and they were divine. Music was nice touch, as they had a primarily instrumental group up first, then jazz/blues after 9 PM. We'll be back!
Great but noisy place
I arrived at 7:30pm and there were 2 guitar players on stage which was really nice. I could talk to my friend and she could hear what I was saying but once the blues band started our enjoyable experience was over . It was a great band but I wish I had been less noisy. We didn't order desserts because of a headache and sore throat. It would be great to lower the volume and everything would be perfect.
This was a great find! I had heard of it and finally went in on a Friday night and enjoyed every minute of it. The jazz guitar duet was great. The bartender was great. The clientele at the bar were friendly. The personable owner introduced himself and his wife and also sang a few tunes with the duet and later the band. Dinner was fantastic. They have a great patio that I can assure you I will be visiting regularly when the weather gets nice. Everything was well priced, very reasonable. I loved the vibe. I believe I found my new hang out.
OK Food, bad drinks, no music.
I took my wife for her birthday and was looking forward to a long dinner and live music. We started with mixed drinks and appetizers. The drinks were not very good, so we switched to some draft beer for the next round. The appetizers were very small, so we ordered the bread before dinner, hoping to hold off a bit on dinner. It was now about 30 mins after the music was supposed to start. We asked the waitress if she knew when it would start, so she said she would check. The bread came and was pretty dry, so we decided to skip it and go ahead and order dinner, thinking we could get dessert later in the night. The dinner came pretty quick, the food was just ok. It was now an hour and a half after the music was supposed to start. The waitress never told us how long the delay would be. We finally heard another waitress tell a nearby table the group who was going to play was a no show. So we waited a while longer and finally caught up to our waitress and got the check.
Great music place on the Eastside.
Bake's Place is the place to go to on the Eastside for good music, good food and good drinks. Or for great music, great food and great drinks - depending on who's playing, what you order and your drink of choice. Definitely a worthwhile evening in a very comfortable environment. I've always had an excellent experience there.
Dinner and a show!
Our first visit to Bakes to have dinner and stay for a show. Really great fun -- not sure why we haven't done this sooner. We'll absolutely do this again!
Romance was in the Air!
Everything was perfect for our evening from cocktails to our main courses...and then there was the entertainment, well, fabulous is the right word.
Fun Place - so so food
It was my first time there and overall the experience was just ok. We went to see Shelley and the Curves and the band was fantastic! I ordered calamari and gnocchi both of which came to the table cold. I sent back the gnocchi to be warmed up and they put it in a frying pan which grilled the gnocchi so they were almost burned on one side. I ate the calamari cold. I know it's challenging when everyone orders at once however they could have planned it better knowing everyone would order right before the show. There were 2 women (I was one of them) and 1 man at our table. The servers were very attentive however even though I asked for the check, they brought it to the man at the table. Check should always be given to the person that asks for it or when in doubt put it in the middle of the table. Don't assume the man is paying. I caulk that up to youth and inexperience. Shelley and the Curves are playing there again next month and I plan to go see them. I will probably give them another try for dinner to see if it's better next time.
Great Music Venue
You get a first class meal and a great show! This is one of the premier live music night clubs in Bellevue.
NW Passage DejaVu!
Loved our evening at Bake's ... Heard Ventura Hwy Band -- which was excellent! Bakes reminds us of the former Northwest Passage bar that several of us frequented back in the 80's..The food was very good and the entertainment was great! In fact, we kinda 'hate' to recommend Bakes too much -- as we fear that getting into this place will prove difficult as more folks discover it. Oh well, fun place to discover!!

Great place to listen to live music in Bellevue!! Only downside was being seated at a very tall high top table when we planned to eat dinner. We had to stagger our plates, bread, and wine glasses just to fit everything. That said, I would definitely go again just for drinks and music. Food was good but nothing special. If you want to sit at a normal table, you might want to call ahead and see if they will accommodate you. When we got there, I was told that all of the "regular" tables were reserved already even though I made my reservation in advance through open table.
First Visit - Kalimba!
This was our first time at this venue and loved it! Kalimba brought us in for our date night without our kids! We never knew this venue was in Bellevue! We ordered dinner and it was delicious. Kalimba sounded awesome and the restaurant was jumping. Everyone seemed to be having a great time! Would've been nice to have a dance area, since people were dancing around the table areas your view to the band was blocked! The restaurant was very nice, staff were wonderful too. We do hope to visit again soon.
Loved me some Bakes!
Had a great time catching the Kalimba band here last Saturday night. Tremendous ambience, our server Jorge was a GEM, food was great and not as expensive as Jazz Alley. Free parking in the structure, amazing sound man (no ear plugs needed!) and delicious cocktails, could not recommend them more. Unlike Jazz Alley, arrive a bit earlier and have your choice of tables, that was really nice. We do love Jazz Alley too, and Bakes is, unfortunately, not large enough to handle bigger audiences. But catch a show there if you can, it's a great spot.
Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute to Maurice Woods
This was our first visit to Bake's Place. We loved the energy coming from all directions. Our server was a big help getting us through such an array of choices. the whole staff seemed to be working together. No wonder they are able to get everyone seated, orders in and served before the show starts. We'll be back. Kalimba was awesome. It was an especially good tribute to the life and works of Maurice Woods.

I came here with my girlfriend for date night. We came here to watch a blues show. Overall it was a great date night. The musical act was great. We only had drinks and dessert (blueberry pudding + ice cream) which were both good. The service was wonderful as well. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to switch things up.
Best Place Ever to See Live Music
I have been wanting to check this place out since it opened a couple of years ago. Man am I sorry I waited! This was one of the best live venues for music that I have ever been to. who could not like getting some good food, table service, and sitting about five feet away from a live band!
Week-night Biz, Week-end Date
Travelled to Bellevue and ended up going here 2x in 3 days. First night was Thurs night business dinner, 2nd was Sat night out. Experience was tuned perfectly for both. Thursday was 75% full with single live performer allowing for dinner conversation. Saturday was packed. Vibrant multi-piece Jazz band was fun and loud. Crowd ranged from 40+ couples, to some slightly younger groups. Food is accessible (I ordered burrito) and very good. Liquor selection is impressive. I focused on bourbons tried a few I had never had

Great service and good music venue. Best in Bellevue.
Loved spending the evening at Bake's Place! The ambiance is classy and elegant, the entertainment was spectacular. I'd recommend anyone go there for dinner and entertainment.
Music and more
Went for Happy hour. This is a great spot to listen to free music while noshing on happy hour bites. There is a pretty good selection of food for Happy hour. Happy hour wine was a good value and decent quality wine.
