Azure Ratings and Reviews
Not the least bit romantic- overpriced.
The food was good, however, over priced for the ambience. Noisy with kids, not what you expect with this price range. Very disappointed.
The view from a table was so beautiful. Staff were so nice. Plates were terriffic!!! You should try Crab cake.So delicious!
A 16th Birthday & Azure Delivers
Azure is a lovely restaurant that is a special place for celebrations -- like a 16th birthday party. The five of us enjoyed very good scallops, filet mignons, and shrimp cocktails. Our waiter was attentive and gracious even when we questionned him about the ingredients in / on some of the food.

Well prepared, delicious food. Superb steak and outstanding cheesecake.
Bit of a disappointment
The menu was very limited because it was valentine's day but the selections seemed ok. The service was ok, the rest of the hotel staff was incredible and the bar staff was very knowledgable. The wait staff though was a little inexperienced and answered a few questions about the menu incorrectly.
Special Valentine's Dinner
The Azure is one of my favorite restaurants in the Daytona Beach area. It is always my "go to" location when I need to impress family, friends and/or clients. So, it seemed natural to choose Azure for a special Valentine's dinner with my wife. The restaurant provides several areas for a quiet secluded meal, or you can opt for a scenic outdoor setting. What I didn't realize, is that you may also be seated in the bar area. I was surprised that the hostess seated us in a loud, non-romantic bar for this special event. I had booked this event well in advance, and had assumed that it was a special seating with a special menu. We ordered the tomahawk ribeye for two. The dish was outstanding! I was confused as to why the Azure would serve a steak for two and not carve it tableside. It is a little awkward to cut up a steak and serve it as if we were in a family-style restaurant. I have enjoyed steaks at most of the best steakhouses in the country, and every time I've ordered a steak for two or more... it was carved at the table. Overall... The food, wine, cocktails and dessert was excellent.
Delicious and Elegant
The service and ambiance were A+. It was a busy night (Valentine's Day), but the staff was attentive and courteous. We had a spectacular time and we never felt crowded or lost in the chaos of dinner on a special occasion like at some places. And if you stay the night, breakfast was just as wonderful.
I took my date here for Valentine's Day, it was great! It wasnt nice enough to sit outside, but the ambiance inside was perfect. Our waiter was very pleasant and friendly. I ordered the grouper and my date ordered the filet mignon, both were very excellent dishes, and two that I would highly recommend!
Azure stepped up and delivered at every opportunity with graciousness and efficiency They tailored some salad ingredients to please our dining party and made adjustments to accommodate a disabled party member. Heather was our server and she worked with the chef to create an outstanding dining experience
Plans where to have Christmas Dinner, arrived finding that Dinner(restaurant) wasn't served until 4pm. Waitress, Hostess and Manager were VERY accommodating with suggests which included a Holiday buffet upstairs. We did get a chance to view both their Lunch & Dinner menus and they seem well priced and choice for the type of the facility Resort/Spa. We took upon the Buffet suggestion and was graciously escorted by the Manager himself. We enter the upstairs dining area with a spectacular Ocean view. All Dining servers were very nice and being that We were the last arriving and last in leaving. Price, some would think high, * Remember it was CHRISTMAS, well feel was VERY fair $50.00 in that it included ALL drinks with Complimentary champagne. MANY in surrounding Communities were MUCH higher. It did charge additional fee(s), both a Gratuity Service 18% *normal amount & Tax. Being that it the Buffet was near ending, Food was what it was, It was Good, the Shrimp were colossal, several options to choose with a Standing Chef for custom cooking options. Overall not bad, but I bet FANTASTIC if arrived/known about earlier. My ONLY wish was there was a CHRISTMAS BUFFET advertised on their Site, as not seen, so We thought it was a sit-down restaurant only. Will consider re-visit next year, but meanwhile would like to plan also a return to sample their daily menu. This Resort/Spa (The Shores) is absolutely so different as being located right on the Ocean A1A Daytona Beach) and not what one would expect (Décor) * not "beachy"- but VERY nice, sort of like Old time nostalgia.
Wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner
This was our first choice for Thanksgiving Dinner this year, as we were staying in Daytona for the annual Turkey Rod Run. We dropped into the bar for "Happy Hour" and found the drinks to be a great starter for our evening. We were warmly greeted and seated by Harper at our reservation time and Heather was a wonderful server. We chose to order from the menu and were very pleased with our choices. We shared a Caesar salad and we each ordered seafood, including the grouper entree and the seafood etouffe. Both meals were deliciously well prepared. The view of the ocean was a perfect compliment to the evening and we look forward to returning to Azure on our next visit to Daytona. There are limited choices for upscale dining on Thanksgiving Day and we would highly recommend Azure!
Great atmosphere, Horrible food
I chose azure because it sounded like a cool place to have dinner, especially after scoping out their menu on opentable. Upon arrival it took a while before we got seated even though it was very slow. The online menu lured us there, but to our surprise non of the items were available. We were told the menu had just changed. We ordered our food, the tuna appetizer was awful, had no taste, just blend and loaded with edamame peas and some paste. The steak was over cooked, I asked for med rare but... The chicken entrée was so so, with sauce just thrown on the plate. Overall the plate presentation was awful, and the food itself was the worst I have ever had. Our server was very nice, we talked to him about our experience and he agreed the presentation of the plates was below standards. He said had just came back from vacation and that he would bring this to the GM and chefs attention. I am still waiting to hear from the restaurant (as promised by our server) to see if they have made any significant changes, as I would give them another chance. However its been two weeks and no word, I guess we wont be visiting azure again. Not worth the drive, its a shame because its such a beautiful place with great outdoors oceanfront. But the food lives a lot to be desired.
Azure for our 45 th wedding anniversary . 11-12-15
Found this gem in South Daytona Beach over looking the shore. Outdoor or indoor dining. We chose indoor but walked outside. The chief and menu were new that day. It was outstanding. It did not disappoint at all, we had steak and salmon which was done to perfection. Appetizers were super, nice wine list too. Deserts - well I am sorry we only had room for one !
Heard this place was amazing but it was not so for us. Met friends here for lunch. The trouble started when I tried to make a reservation for 7 and was told there were no available tables. So I had to make reservation for 6 which meant my son couldn't join us. When we got there the place was EMPTY. So I have a hard time understanding why I couldn't get a table for 7. Then we were given a menu that only contained 4 choices for apps, 4 choices for soups and salads, and 3 choices for sandwiches. That was it! When we asked about seeing a dinner menu we were told that the kitchen had just been renovated and they would not be able to fix anything other than what was presented. Really??? If the menu was limited due to a remodel it would have been nice to have been informed. I would have gone somewhere else. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for high end food. You might not get it here.
This was our second visit to Azure, the first time being a year ago. We already knew that it would be an elegant atmosphere, and we also saw that the menu changed a bit since our last visit. It was Halloween night so there was a loud party going on at the resort, but my husband and I were seated as far away from the noise as possible in the outdoor area. The ocean view was beautiful, and our waiter Charles was very friendly. The menu is very limited, which we believe is usually a good sign that a restaurant prepares a few dishes very well instead of a bunch of mediocre offerings. This held true at Azure. Everything was excellent and the presentation was beautiful as well. We ordered every appetizer on the menu and everything was extremely flavorful and well thought-out. For the main course, the Wagyu steaks were cooked properly with attention to the natural flavor of the meat rather than over-seasoned. Since it was our wedding anniversary, the staff surprised us with a personalized cheesecake dessert that was to die for. Overall, we really enjoy this place and plan to bring the rest of our family here sometime for a nice evening out.
Fair at most
Food wasn't all bad but personnel seem shorthanded
This was our 5th time dining at Azure, and the 3rd time for our anniversary, while staying at The Shores Resort. This time around the food experience was a little different. The wine selection was still very good, but the menu was a bit limited. It turns out that the restaurant is undergoing renovations and all of the cooking and the staff are working out of displaced tents and refrigeration trucks! Given that, everything was pretty good. Our server Rachel was WONDERFUL!
Excellent oceanfront dining
The food is creative and very well presented. The Chef's creation is not to be missed! The stunning views of the ocean add to the overall expererience. The wait staff is very attentive and helpful.
always love it
Love this place! My daughter got married there in July 2011. We go back all the time. Especially when my daughter and family is down from Jersey
It's a great spot with a beautiful view and fantastic food. Our server was fantastic, very friendly with excellent suggestions. By far the nicest restaurant we ate at in Daytona.

We should have been weary when we got there because we were the only ones there at 6pm on a Sunday! We waited like almost 30 minutes for our entrees. Then my wife had to send her food back twice b/c the steak was rare when she order well. My meal was average at best and cold. It's right next to the beach entrance into the hotel which was great for people watching but not for a vacation date night. We did get a complimentary s'more fusion desert bag thing but that was all. Not worth the $150 tab (we only had 1 drink each).
Good food, friendly but chaotic service
Enjoyed the grilled oysters very much. Someone at our table ordered the venison, which was very good. Service was a little crazy. It took a very long time to get drinks out to us. They brought out the second course before clearing any plates from the first course, so there was no room to put the food. They also forgot things, brought two of a dish instead of one. Overall, it was a good night.
Under- & over- cooked spices masked all else.
While the drinks were properly composed, and the lobster bisque was very flavorful, there was much in which to be disappointed: The bisque was quite thin. The calamari was cooked perfectly, but was overwhelmed by the very sweet and needless topping The rice was very under-cooked (hard and gritty). The venison was encased in spices to a point that I was able to scrape off over a teaspoon from the surface of just one tablespoon-sized piece. The fish had no flavor, and was over-charred. YUCK!
The Pear Salad was awesome and so was the chef's special ahi tuna ceviche! The corn meal crusted artichokes on the flat bread were very tasty but too big, too hard to eat on the flat bread, almost better for an appetizer by itself.
Enjoyed sitting by the ocean.
We had a nice time sitting by the ocean. The food was good.

The restaurant is beautiful, elegant, but not pretentious. The food is very eclectic. Lots of flavors. Too much salt in everything. If you are on a special hypertension/renal diet, I don't suggest this restaurant for you. Very chef inspired menu. Be careful about ordering the wine special of the day because the wine may very well be flat like mine was.
Good food, but overpriced
Azure is fine. The food is good, the service is good, the surroundings are pleasant. It's just overpriced. I've eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world -- Paris, London, New York, San Francisco, New Orleans, Beijing, New Delhi, Rome -- and I've had meals that I've paid a lot more for, and felt that those meals were worth the money; but not at Azure. Not a bad restaurant, just an overpriced restaurant.
Azure Tries Hard
The location and setting is perfect. The food and service is good, but not great. They try hard to be special, but just haven't broken through.
Not a good Valentine Dinner experience
I had made the reservation several weeks ahead based on a good experience the year before. When we arrived they tried to seat us at a 2-top crammed against another in a row that had been packed in for the special night. We objected to the cramped seating and were given the option of the patio which was mostly closed against the cold night air. The first table they put us at had an infrared heater above that was broken so we asked to be moved again to one with a working heater. That heater did work but our feet were cold by the time the meal was over as they had not fully closed the solid blinds and cold air blew in at the bottom. Menu selection had only 5 choices and we went for the chateau-briand which at $95 was pricey, especially when were told the beef was choice, not prime. But the meat was good and cooked appropriately with nice veggie sides that were sparse. We certainly did not overeat and the meal was spoiled by complete lack of ambience. Will not eat there again.
The service was terrible and our server was completely unaware and not observant. Our salads had zero taste, the bread was yummy, but the dinner was just ok. For a meal that cost over $100, I was very disappointed.
Great experience! !!
Everything was great tasty food, friendly wait staff, and lovely ambiance.
I dare you to try and reach someone by phone to make a reservation. Once there, the grouper might be really good. It was salty the night we were there. The Mac and cheese is yummy as is the pear salad.
We only live across the river from the Shores and have eaten here at lunch and dinner before. We like the fish selections and of course the beautiful view. Also stayed overnight and partook of the morning buffet. All were very good! There are only a handful of top notch places to dine in Daytona and Azure remains one of them!
Great Place for Christmas Dinner
Go before dusk so you can enjoy the ambiance that the beach brings into the restaurant. The food was exciting and reasonably priced. The pear salad was outstanding the Cobia terrific as well as the crab cakes whose flavor was unexpected but very good. The pace of the meal was about right. The cocktails were slow in coming and not well constructed which was a dichotomy when compared to the excellence of the food.
Really good food and friendly staff. Ambiance is nice.
Great food on the Beach
We happened upon this restaurant while searching for dinner places in Daytona Beach. It was a great find! The waitstaff was fun and friendly. The ocean terrace was beautiful and romantic. We enjoyed some great seafood appetizers and the shared the Mahi which was delicious. We ended with vanilla ice cream that was exceptional in flavor and texture. Great place! will go again
Great food, outstanding experience.
Well, to begin with, I kinda take issue over Azure being marketed as a really high priced restaurant. Sure, you'll pay more than at a chain, but in my experience, the price really was pretty reasonable. Especially for the quality. The food was fantastically subtle, and largely French inspired with some variations. Very fresh and I presume to be almost all local. Though some of the flavor combinations are to be expected from French cuisine, there were also some unusual and exciting variations as well. I cannot stress enough my joy at the subtlety, with the only exception being the buffalo carpaccio - the difference there only because I generally describe buffalo as "very beef". Excellent dining experience.
Great date night
This place was awesome. We had a party of 4 for dinner on a Friday night. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere could not have been better. We enjoyed sitting fireside after dinner and even enjoyed the smores kit they had available at the bar. We will be going back often.
I ordered steak for dinner and it was not good quality meat. We also ate breakfast. The food was served cold and not cooked as requested.
Great food but not service
Arrived at 12:30, served our lunch at 2:00. Dining room had four tables occupied and there were several tables occupied outside. Ordered our drinks and finally lunch. Had appetizers then waited 45 minutes before we received our entres. As I got up to speak to someone, our lunch came out of the kitchen. Food was very good but there was no excuse for the slow service. Not sure if it was a waitress problem or kitchen. Which ever, it was unacceptable and needs to be fixed. We like Azure a lot and will try it again.
