About AZUR Restaurant & Patio
AZUR restaurant & patio was designed after European establishments providing the feel of being in a different place without leaving Lexington. Customers often comment that they don’t feel like they’re in a strip center in Lexington. The walls are bold blues and greens with curves throughout. The interior space flows outside through three sets of French doors onto the elegant stone bordered brick patio. Weather permitting, the patio is opened.

Seems to have slipped a notch.
Little attention to detail. Food good-very good but should be better.

And ask for handsome Doug for your server. He's the best!
Brunch was lovely!
My husband daughter and Ivwent for Easter brunch. All three meals were tasty and well prepared. There was a problem with my husband's eggs being overlooked but it was handled quickly and efficiently by our server. The mimosas were perfect and the New Orleans chocolate torte for dessert was divine. It is a little pricey but it was worth it.
Very slow service.

Favorite place in the Neighborhood
The outdoor dining area is great. A favorite place to go. The chef changes up the menu frequently and the specials are always excellent. That said, there are favorites that are always on the menu..
Excellent service and always good food. Wine can be pricey. Nice covered patio.
Loved this place!
What a great find! Really good food, whether a signature dish or something more traditional. Azur really exceeded my expectations!!
Seems to be a popular local restaurant -expensive
Took my wife there for Valentine's Day. Was special pricing due to the holiday. I made a reservation. When we arrived, there were no tables available. They gave us the option of sitting out on the patio that was closed in with a heavy plastic clear tent covering. This should not have been option for them to offer. There were large heaters but it ended up being quite breezy. It was snowing and cold and there was no way this was going to be warm enough. The ambience was minimal. There were tables and chairs stuck in a corner. Looked like their winter storage area. My wife ordered lamb and I ordered cocoanut shrimp. It was a multicourse meal with salads and desert. All of the food was good. I received 2 shrimp. My wife received a lamb chop. With drinks and tip the bill was $175. I realize this was special pricing and not a fill-it-up food station. But I thought it was exploitative price-wise. If this is a person's thing, small portions but with good flavor and high menu prices, then give it a try. I recommend skipping the patio when its cold outside.
Azur, great as always
We dine at Azur whenever possible and have never been disappointed. My only complaint is that if you are seated next to the live music, conversation at your table is nearly impossible. Restaurants in Lexington have seem to have forgotten that music should compliment the meal, not dominate it. Even accoustic bands are always overly loud. Otherwise, Azur is always a great choice. Food and service are exceptional!

Our group of 6 totally enjoyed our visit. The food was great. The service even greater, with the waitress going the extra mile to accomodate a guest. This was my first visit, and plan to go back again.

Great atmosphere. Loved the place. Great food.
Our waiter took forever to take even ask to take our order. 2 hours later we still didn't have our checks. Took 25 minutes to get our checks and they were wrong.
Good food. Service was excellent. It was a fun experience!
Good food, but overpriced.
We were a party of three and ordered the Fried Chicken, Sea Bass, and Lamb Rack dishes. I had no complaints about the lamb at all, it was outstanding and well worth the 35 dollar price for the dish. The sea bass on the other hand, as my guest pointed out was overcooked on the outside and completely undercooked in the middle. The fried chicken was very good, the meat was moist and tender and overall flavorful; however, at 30 dollars for a fried chicken dish you just expect something a little more upscale than what you can cook just as easily at home. We aren't complainers so we finished our meals, or what each party chose they would finish of their respective dishes (I don't blame my guest for not finishing the sea bass) and left without issue. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was attentive and on point, bringing refills before we needed them, making sure we were not in need of anything, and as friendly and informative about the dishes as she could possibly be. She even took the time to explain to me why the executive chef had taken the duck dish that was advertised on the videos of the restaurants website was taken off the menu (extremely disappointed with that as the dish looked amazing and was the primary reason I chose to take my guests to Azur). Overall it was an average dining experience when a superb experience was expected.
they mixed all the food together
It arrived as a lump if mash potato covered meat and the serving sizes were strange desert was heated up brownie mix.
Went here for NYE with my husband and were pleasantly surprised. Delicious, unique dishes and overall great value. Would definitely recommend!
It was okay.
The live music was very good, but was rather loud for dinner. I dislike having to raise my voice to be heard and to have to strain to hear others while eating. The pork carnitas special was tasty, though some pieces seemed somewhat fatty.
Good food but
The food is very good but the ambiance of a storefront restaurant doesn't fit. They have made nice changes to the interior over the years but it reminds me of a diner in a strip mall. Once again the food was very-very good, the service top notch and the environment poor, I guess 2out of 3 isn't bad.
We always have great service, enjoy the food, the wine, and the music here. It is our go-to for birthday dinners and special occasions.
The food is outstanding.
The ambiance is absent and it's noisy. Who cares? The food is imaginative, incredibly well prepared and presented with flair. Also ... the portions are generous. Wow.
Bklyn lady finds excellence in KY restaurant
First the service was outstanding! This waiter really knew what he was doing...it was as if we were his only table...( and believe me that wasn't the case) Second: we asked for a difficult question for a restaurant: one of our party of three only wanted a salad for dinner and we were there for Breeders Cup...so we had been called weeks earlier and told that it was a four course price fix menu ... Not only did they allow the change..they were gracious about it.. Third: The food was outstanding...oysters and fish entree the freshest ( and the last time I looked on a map KY was not a seaport) veggies beautiful and my friends steak perfectly grilled.
not as good as it used to be
We have been regulars at Azur for years when in town for the horse sales. We try to avoid Azur when they offer live music because the noise level prevents anyone from having a conversation over dinner. However, the food has always been consistently good until recently. Last week we ate there and had a poor experience. We always ask for their French Pinot - the waiter arrived with a bottle that had a different label and just as he was about to open it, I inquired and he said they were out of that particular wine but "this Cal wine is just as good.". I don't care for most Cal reds but let me decide. That was strike one. Then the bread arrived and It was stale, our guests agreed and then our entrees arrived. My husbands chicken was really dry and tough and the mashed potatoes were lumpy and tasted like my napkin. My tuna was fine, not the best grade I've ever had but it was ok. The overall experience can't compare to the quality of food and service we used to get from Azur. To top it off, I received an email from Open Table the next day about my no show the night before. I promptly responded and reiterated what a letdown the restaurant was but its not surprising based on the rest of the experience. I hope they revisit their food selection and have a talk with staff about customer service as it used to be my favorite place to eat in Lexington.
This was our second visit to AZUR and it was as great as the first. We come to Lexington one week a year and will make it a point to dine at AZUR!

Great as business dinner, food had a tropical touch. Overall excellent
Visited Azur patio during the Fall Keeneland meet. Food was tremendous, as always. You can't beat Josh as your waiter. One of the best restaurants in Lexington.
If AZUR were in Saratoga Springs............
It would be open twelve months a year and would be fully booked during the Meet. One of those rare places that combines the food, bar, waitstaff, entertainment and hospitality in a venue that makes you want to stay. Very well done!

We all ordered something different and really liked what we got. Portion size was generous but not obscene. Great experience overall.
What a disappointment!!
We've eaten at Azur probably 15+ times and always enjoyed our meals. This was a special evening in that we were taking our son whom was visiting from Chicago. The patio happened to be closed the night we went because of rain so they crammed all of us in their dining room. They also put the band in the dining room. It was SO LOUD!!!! We couldn't hear ourselves think, let alone have a conversation. Then when we got our meals...my sister's fish was so dry it was inedib le. She should have sent it back. My daughter and I split the sea bass ($35) and the piece of fish that I received was so small I finished it in 3 bites. It was on top of a huge mound of mashed potatoes. All in all, so very, very disappointing!!!
Second time visiting, worth returning
This was the second time I came to Azur while working in the Lexington area. They have a large selection of Bourbon and delicious options for dining. I only wish they had all of their Bourbons on a list so you could know what you were selecting from. Our waitress was unsure of what they had available for Rye when visiting.
We took advantage of Azur's current Sunday promotion of two can dine for $20. The meal included a generous portion of their delicious fried chicken, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a side of gravy. Ask for some of their local sourced honey, as it is a great complement to the fried chicken. They also have a decent selection of 10 wines for $20 so we chose a nice pinot grigio to accompany our meal. Overall we had an excellent experience and look forward to our next trip to Azur.
The hostess was great and engaging. Waitress was slow and was not engaging at all. Felt like dealing with a robot. Use to high end restaurants having better servers. The food was a little delayed in receiving. Bourbon fried chicken was awesome but the mashed potatoes and green beans were very bland. When I won't eat mashed potatoes, they must not be good. My girlfriend was even more disappointed than myself. We met a nice couple that comes there every Friday. That was the best part of the experience. Although I would come back to try again. My girlfriend was adamant about not returning. Could have been an off night in the kitchen. Heard great things so your experience could be different.
The food is always excellent in preparation, presentation and taste. In addition, the atmosphere was great for reconnecting with a friend - we could actually hear each other talking!
We just figured it was an off night for the restaurant .

I have always had a great food experience here. The menu is vaired and the offerings are not found in other restraunts.
Drinks were too expensive. We went planning to get cocktails but passed.
Two of us tried trout and salmon for entrees - very good, but not outstanding. The sides were the highlight - grits with excellent texture, greens with a vibrant complex of herbs/spices, whose juice served as the "sauce" for the trout. Wine list is OK, but sparse. The overall creativity makes this special, rather than one particular component.
food and service continue to be at highest level!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not as good as usuall...
Service was very poor, waitress was not attentive at all! The veal was bland.
Another Great Visit
My wife and I had dinner at Azur and once again the food and service were very good. I always enjoy coming to Azur because they have menu items that are out of the ordinary and exceptionally prepared. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. The service was fast and efficient. We would have liked to eaten outside, but there wasn't a way to specify this on Open Table and the Patio was fully booked when we arrived. Still an excellent evening at Azur.
