Discovering the experience of dining in a place such as Cannes or Nice was never easier than now with the opening of the French Bistro and Raw Bar, Avenue. The only difference between dining at Avenue and dining along the Côte d'Azur, is that your gaze lands on waves on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. Avenue is located along our side of the pond, on our own eastern shores in Long Branch, New Jersey. This gleaming new restaurant is designed by the internationally renowned architect David Collins, and the collaboration is nothing short of amazing.

Four scallops for forty dollars with no sides. Not enough lobster for $38 lobster roll and too much pepper. Drinks were very small. There are too many other options in Long Branch to not give good value.

Our first disappointment was the “cheesecake factory seating “. We were so close to the couple on our left. Definitely not what you would expect for a fine dining experience. Don’t expect a romantic dinner experience. The bread was our second disappointment. It was bland and certainly not even close to French bread. We split the crab cake as our appetizer and the crab cake was also unseasoned and bland. My entree was the lentil salad with a salmon protein. It was very good. My partner had the expensive stuffed flounder. It was very bland also. The French would be appalled. Ww will never return.

The server was wonderful, professional and engaging - offering menu suggestions and taking good care of us. The food was delicious, the atmosphere absolutely perfect for a beach day luncheon, and the decor is peaceful, beautiful and inviting. My guests and I had a lovely meal!

Went on a Sunday at 6:30 pm. I was told what I wanted to order was unavailable. After finishing my meal I saw them serve others what I had wanted to order. They were also out of the soups we wanted. The Creme brulee was tasteless and pathetic. Never going again

We had a fantastic dining experience over the July 4th weekend. The food was excellent, especially the oysters. They were fresh and perfectly chilled. The drinks were just as impressive. We sat outside and were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and enjoyable the atmosphere was. Despite the full beach, the noise level was just right. And parking wasn't a big hassle either. We'll definitely be back !

Don’t … repeat don’t … eat here in the summer. We were there for two hours and got one of two appetizers and never got our mains. The server kept saying it would be right out. We ended up leaving and going across the street for a solid Greek meal.

Food was very late coming out and crowd was standing between the tables as we dined to see the fireworks. The crowd needed to be monitored so that the restaurant guests could enjoy their meal without people hovering over them that were not paying customers.

An hour before my dinner reservation of 16 for a celebration, they called and cancelled my seating arrangement and told me the would put me in a “private” area and offer me 2 waiters. None happened that way. Our table wasn’t served water for 1 hour and we had to ask, and food came 2 hours later. I know it being the 4th of July would be hectic, however the service was not worth the wait. They disregarded us having elderly ppl with us and a tired and frustrated waiter that let us know he didn’t want to be the server. Horrible experience for me and my guests.
