a.Lure Savannah Ratings and Reviews
The Best of Savannah!
This was our first trip to Savannah and our first meal of the trip was enjoyed at A. Lure. It set a very high mark for all the other meals to follow! The Duck a la Root Beer Float was an inventive preparation and the duck confit that accompanied it was spectacular. Service was gracious and the location was ideal - a quiet haven in the midst of the bustling historic district.

My first drink was the sangria. It tasted like the oranges were bad/ overripe and had been sitting out as it tasted wAtered down. My mom was hungry for a burger. First one was. Ur t and bun black. Manager was helpful and took it back. We had to wait awhile and when they brought the 2nd one, it was burnt on the underside as well , bun still burnt but not as bad. The manager took it off our bill but really, it should never have been plated burnt. My food was good but not for the price. We had much better food at other restaurants in the area. Save your money
First time Savannah for my husband's 60th Birthday
Food and table service was great. However I had made a reservation and despite this we were placed at a busy 2-top table., which was disappointing. We travel often, and are fortunate to dine in very nice establishments, so were impressed with the quality of the food-especially the deviled eggs-amazing! Fried green tomatoes were bland, but main entrees were delicious. We had the pecan pie for dessert-unremarkable.
A Foodie Destination
Very comfortable and casual vibe. Staff is very fine, indeed. Our server, Blair, was absolutely outstanding. Lamb Carpaccio starter is a must have. The meatloaf (yes, I know) was superb...definitely not like Mom's. Low Country Boil was OK, but there are better choices. We shall return!

We had a very good time. Because the noise level was high, it was a bit difficult to have a conversation but the atmosphere was fun and the people watching entertaining. The food was excellent. I had the catch of the day and my husband had the foie gras meatloaf which I tasted and it was delicious . Overall a lovely dinner.
Great food and attentive staff
Loved our food there, seafood pasta and crispy red snapper was wonderful. A little tight in seating but still nice atmosphere and great staff
We had a table at the back of the restaurant, looking out. Great people watching. I had a crispy whole fish that was plated beautifully. I did think the pace of the meal was too quick but I'm a slow eater.
Always eat here whenever in Savannah
A.lure will not disappoint. The meals are creative and the flavors blend will together. The service is very caring but not overbearing. I like the atmosphere that is casual but upscale trendy ( is warehouse gentrified a word)? Good drink menu and wine list. I went with my wife while on vacation. We started with deviled eggs and lamb carpaccio Both were outstanding. My wife normally doesn't like lamb, but this was an exception and a winner. For dinner, I have a pork shank which was a bit fatty but was the reason it was fall off the bone tender. My wife had mahi which was excellent. Like I said all the flavors blended together very will on both meals. Much better than "The Olde Pink House" which makes nice meals, but is a bit touristy and not as good. More like a dinner factory, so we skipped it on this visit. No room for dessert.
Enjoyable travel experience
I am changing my review because I realized I wrote a review for AllIgatorSoul on the ALure form sorry! Our experience at Alure was fabulous! We rarely order beef but meatloaf was amazing as were the scallops. Both had lovely presentation with vegetables. This restaurant was highly recommended by a concierge at the Andaz. The food was truly southern but with a modern twist, so entrees were not heavy or fried. Good wines too. I wish I remembered our server's name. She was very nice and helpful as was the whole staff. George gave us a perfect round table towards the front
From the moment we walked in I knew it was going to be a great evening. Accommodating staff, perfect atmosphere, and quite good food. Try their basil mojito-fabulous. Both the duck a la root beer and the shrimp and grits were hits. Instead of heading for the river where food is often mediocre and over priced, try A .lure a few blocks in.

Another great local restaurant. From the moment we walked in we knew we were in for a treat. They brought champagne for my wife's birthday and sat us I'm a great little booth. Restaurant is bigger thank it looks. The Savannah Heat drink was amazing although the second was not as good as the first for me, I think one is enough. Too much citrus for me. The duck a la root beer was amazing. We got the grilled brussel sprouts to go with it and it was more than enough for two of us. Highly recommend a.Lure.

Excellent grouper special. Fantastic flavors and pairings. Everything was excellent. Great mixed drinks. I definitely would go back. Service was also excellent.
always happy to return
wonderful setting, nice reception, good food. wine was excellent choice suggested by the wait staff.
Our experience at a.lure went pretty well, until a couple was seated next to us on the bench style tables. That gentleman then proceeded to occupy/dominate the waitress to the point where our service declined measurably. Food was very good, although a bit overpriced. Although tasty, the blueberry salad had luxurious dressing with only 4, yes 4, whole blueberries on the plate and one cherry tomato cut into slices.....noise level is excessive, in our opinion. The stated flavor of creme brulee ordered was alas, not available, and the replacement was not exceptional, but removed from our bill, which was appreciated. Location is convenient to City Market area, but parking can be a challenge.
We enjoyed our meal at a. Lure, and the service was very good. If you don't live in the south and want to try Fried Green Tomatoes, this is the place to have them. They were delicious. The only negative is we both felt the the atmosphere was somewhat pretentious.
Excellent dining experience
High end fine dining and very sophisticated surroundings.
A lure was wonderful. Great food and drinks, A perfect place to celebrate 39 years of marriage. The staff made us feel very special with a surprise champagne toast. Thanks for making our special occasion just that.
Pleasantly surprised by Quality, Service
This was a first class dining experience . The soft shell crab( seasonal only) was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. Crab cakes and seasonal regional seafood boil were both outstanding. Our salads were tasty and fresh. The service was attentive and our waitress had a very pleasant and even bubbly personality. We topped off our experience by giving a generous tip and a museum pass to the manager to bestow on some kitchen staff that she wanted to reward. A real gem in an unusual corner of Savannah.celightful.
Overall Rating a Ten!
I rarely review a restaurant, but our experience at A.Lure in Savannah was so memorable that I must share. The service and atmosphere was outstanding and the food was the best meal I have had in a long time. Highly recommended. Can't wait to return next trip to Savannah.
Wonderful choice for Savannah visit
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our dinner at A. Lure! We started with a couple of the perfect signature cocktails, the Cucumber Collins for him and the Ginger Skyline for me. The menu had so many wonderful choices, but we decided to split the rabbit ravioli appetizer (lived up to its rave reviews). Then I had the whole crispy fish - a beautifully prepared vermilion snapper with a blood orange gastrique. My husband opted for the pork shank, which was richly flavored and beautifully tender. The biscuits that were served with a pineapple marmalade were just incredible too. The service was friendly, and dinner was nicely timed - we didn't feel rushed and we also didn't feel we were waiting on anything. We had to get back to our hotel to watch the UCONN women's basketball team win the national title, so we had to skip dessert this time around. I'm sure Savannah has other wonderful restaurants, but it would be hard for me to not return to A.Lure if we get back to Savannah for another visit.
Visiting city. Great find while walking downtown. Larger than it looks. Meandering rooms. Small bar. Very lively. Dark wood and high ceilings. Menu heavy on fish of course but very creative. Had fish pasta. Grouper, crab, shrimp. Loaded with fish and light delicious. Husband had Mac and Cheese. Different. Delicious. Wait for food too long. Rest of experience delightful
Good food, poor wine choices by glass
My wife and I ate here our last night in Savannah. We loved the food. My wife had the deviled eggs and I had the fried green tomatoes. We both liked the dishes, although the pickled vegetables with the deviled eggs were more tart than spicy. My wife had the "Peas and Carrots" dinner and loved it. The scallops were cooked perfectly and risotto was delicious. I had the grouper special and enjoyed it as well. The one down side was, there was only one red wine by the glass and no white other than chardonnay. Mgt was nice to offer a white not normally done by the glass. We were told they had a busy weekend and ran out. We were there on a Monday. We would eat here again the next time in Savannah.
Great Taste but Overpriced
All of the food tasted great, especially the blue cheese fondue chips. However, the price of the food did not match the portion we received. I ordered the shrimp and grits; it came with only five pieces of shrimp, and I could barely eat the grits because it was swimming in so much sauce.
Great meal in a great location near the city market area of Savannah. From start to finish the meal was fantastic. We ordered mostly seafood and each dish was imaginative and delicious. The pecan pie was by far the best I've ever had. The service was friendly, attentive yet unobtrusive.
My husband and I vacationed in Savannah from Philadelphia, and after a lot of restaurant choices to choose from, was so happy I chose a.lure!!! What a fabulous restaurant! My husband ordered the meatloaf.....to die for! I had the peas and carrots with shrimp and risotto, also scrumptious!! Natalie our server was fabulous! Wish you were not so far away😢
Simply the best!
This was the best restaurant for food, ambiance. service, and bang for buck in low country! I will eat here every time I find myself in Savannah, and will highly recommend to everyone I know. The meatloaf was absolutely fabulous! Pickled vegetables and fried green tomatoes - superb! The rabbit pasta was the tastiest bite ever! And the chocolate bourbon pecan pie - wow! Wine was excellent and service top notch. Only complaint - someone stole my umbrella from the stand at the door and left me their broken one.
Sophisticated low country food
A.lure serves refined low country food. The low country boil was particularly good, with a corn flan and a hollandaise sauce. The chocolate and peanut butter dessert was delicious. The tables in front are a bit uncomfortable with high stools, so ask to sit at the back
Small cozy restaurant with interesting menu. Decor is uninteresting...bare essentials. The "soup and sandwich" appetizer was unimpressive. The fillet mignon meat loaf was tasty and attractively presented. The chocolate pecan pie was not memorable. The service was quite good. I would eat here again.
Wonderful food and service.
The crispy fish was outstanding and so were the shrimp and grits. We shared the potato crisps with blue cheese fondue (really very sophisticated nachos) and the deviled eggs. No room for dessert. Wine list was very nice and priced about right for the quality. Great experience.
