A Romantic Elegant Retreat
A wonderful place to celebrate a special event or just immerse yourself in some wonderful food. The flavors, atmosphere, and attentive staff put this restaurant at the top of my list for dining in Grand Junction.
I haven't been to 626 for awhile but I my mother and I decided to go for Easter lunch. As always, the food was delicious and the service was stellar.
Gem in GJ
food quality is key, wagyu beef is fantastic, appetizers are as good as anywhere (try the fries) and the service just the right amount of mothering
Great menu and wine flights
One of our go to places for a special occasion or just a great dining experience. Diverse menu with fresh ingredients that add interest you don't find elsewhere in the Valley. Service is very good and we have been fortunate to have Jordan take care of us our last few visits. A must if your in Grand Junction
3rd Anniversary Dinner
We went here last year too and the experience has only improved since then. We wanted something special for just us and that is exactly what we got. The staff was on top of it all night and always seemed to know when to come check on us. The waitress even comped the wine is didn't end up liking and didn't drink more then a couple sips of (not something I expected or asked for). And at the end of the night she even called us a cab since we didn't drive there. All in all a very good experience and worth the money spent.
Best in Grand Junction, CO
The food and service is always excellent at 626. We make a point to go there on special occasions and have for a number of years. Happy hour is also excellent with small plates. It's fun to share with friends. Best restaurant in Grand Jct.
We took our college daughter & her roommate here for a special meal away from dorm food and ramen. We all had a blast translating the unique items on the menu into "normal" language. (Things like squid ink pasta & fresh Au fish) Everything was extremely tasty & artfully presented. Our waitress was very knowledgable of all the ingredients and how the food was prepared, even the exact source of the veggies and spices used in certain dishes. The only drawback was the wait time for the food after ordering seemed a little long but when we saw the plates it was understandable. Overall a great & memorable dining experience.

Wonderful as always! Especially enjoyed the squid ink pasta with smoked scallops! Wine flights are also a great way to try new wines.

Make a Reservation and Try this spot!
I have been two times, once for lunch and once for dinner. The food is fabulous and the service is really great. We live two hours away and everytime we get to Grand Junction this spot is first on our list!
Very good food, good service, a little pricey for lunch.

One of my husband and I's absolute favorite restaurants in grand junction. My husband loves the oysters and the wine list is fantastic. The servers and hostesses are so friendly and offer many great food and drink suggestions.
Big city elegance in our small town. One of the finest dining establishments in Grand Junction, CO.
A Great find in Grand Junction
I've been to 626 on Rood twice, once in the summer and again for New Years eve, and I haven't been disappointed, 626 on Rood is "Big City Good", Lets start with drinks, one of my favorite cocktails is a Vodka Martini w/ Blue Cheese Olives, and 626 has hand stuffed olives that are mostly blue cheese than olive, a couple of them can pass as a cheese course. yum... For appetizers we started with Steak Tartare, bratwurst made from foie gras, and pork, and seared foie gras with a local peach chutney. All were good and large enough to share. Dinner I selected the fish of the moment, which was a type of marlin in a lemon grass broth, that was amazing. The fish was toro cut, which tasted so fresh, you would have thought you were by the sea and not land locked. My dinner companion had the rack of lamb that was large meatie and perfectly done. The staff were attentive, and well educated on the food, and wine. Making recommendation as to which wines pair best with your meal based on your own tastes. All in all a very well trained and friendly staff. Next time I'm in Grand Junction, I will definitely be stopping in.
We had dinner here Monday night while passing through Grand Junction on a cross country trip. Creative menu, excellent food and a wine list that was far beyond what we would have expected in a town this size. The waiter (Robbert) was outstanding. Highly recommended.
We dine here every time we are in Grand Junction. The food is a bit on the high side price-wise, but you won't find anything else like it in the area. My only complaint is that the chairs are for taller people. If you are short, your feet won't reach the floor and that can become uncomfortable.
The food and service were wonderful at this unique small and quaint restaurant. The menu changes with the seasons and the selections are wide enough for the varied tastes we all have. It was obvious that the chef created dishes with much care and the results were superb! I was able to taste several items - thank goodness for friends who are happy to share! If you're tired of the same food ordered at plain restaurants... I suggest you try 626 on Rood for a delightful change of pace!

The lobster Mac & Cheese was amazing! The wine was great and the food was very tasty! It was a little pricy ($39 for a 6 oz steak), but very good. Our only complaint was that the neighboring tables were so close you could easily hear the people's conversations next to you.
We got the pumpkin soup, Turkey dinner and the catch of the day, which was Marlin. All tasted superb. Only suggestion would be to serve bigger portions of the sides on the Marlin dish. It was a nice surprise to be sent home with an extra turkey dinner...nice touch all done with class.
A Thanksgiving to Remember
This year it was just my Grandma and myself for Thanksgiving. I dreaded having to prepare a meal for just the two of us! 626 to the rescue! Theo and Brenda opened their hearts, and their doors, and welcomed us all in as part of their family! The food was delicious as always; but, they truly saved my bacon by being open for Thanksgiving! I can live another year without having to learn how to prepare a turkey!!!! I think this will workout just fine as a holiday tradition!
626 on Rood my take!
We had an enjoyable evening at this restaurant. The entire wait staff was excellent and very personable. The food there is top notch, it rivals fine dining restaurants in much larger city's. There prices however were a bit high so unfortunately not a restaurant I can frequent. But an excellent choice for special occasions.
Grand Junction's Best
We've been going to 626 for a number of years and have never had a bad experience. Love the happy hour and small plates. The heirloom tomato salad is to die for. Have taken California foodies to 626 and they loved it. Great place.
Memorable dining in Grand Junction!
The dining room was peaceful and well appointed, the food delectable and well presented, a wonderful wine selection and the staff was polite and knowledgeable. A perfect place to celebrate a special day or just to enjoy good food and drinks with family/friends.
A gem in Grand Junction!
I was not expecting to find something so good. Ambiance is wonderful, food tantalizing, professional and courteous staff. Definitely go here.
626 is a 10
We were in town for college soccer, googled "wine bar", were intrigued by the "amusement hour" menu and figured we would try it. Nice choices for food, geeat wine list with flights of wine available. One of the owners was bartending on Friday and very fun to chat with...later met the chef/owner. Prices might seem high for some but quality of seafood from Hawaii was worth trying and the Wagyu steak was phenomenal! Loved the vibe of the restaurant and we went back 2 more times before the weekend was over! Love it! All the staff was great and seemed to really enjoy their jobs!
Have eaten here several times. Each one has been a very enjoyable experience- nice mix of creative cuisine, fresh ingredients, and a nice atmosphere. Only issue is their tables are pretty close together so a private conversation can be difficult. Otherwise lovely option in grand junction!

Overall a good experience with very good food and service. Most dishes were excellent, though small. There was only one significant miss - the chili relleno. It was soggy with oil, and overly rich and bland with a boring texture. I enjoy eating and paying for excellent food. At this price, there should be no poorly executed menu items. I still recommend 626 on rood, there is just some room for improvement! I want to see them do well!
626 ROOD GRAND JUNCTION CO
I had previously enjoyed lunch here and this was my first visit for dinner. The 7 X Beef was OUTSTANDING and usually only found in NYC, Los Angeles and Aspen. This alone shows that the chef and owners are paying attention as the beef is receiving wide acclaim from those in the know. Lawrence, our waiter, was exceptional and provided superior service, most unusual in this town where good service is usually lacking.
626 on Rood was very very nice.
We had a delightful at 626 on Rood and were delighted to find a farm to table restaurant with so many choices in Grand Junction. The lamb was incredible as was the beef pot roast. My husband said he would never order pot roast in a restaurant but the description was intriguing! We both had the roasted vegetables and I would love to know their secret as mine are good but not outstanding and these were! Our dog was welcome on the patio which was a super plus. We will definitely return to 626 on Rood.
Hidden gem in Grand Junction
Food was fantastic. Wagyu roast is a must. The flower less cake was not your typical dessert...another must order. I will certainly be coming back here when I'm in town again. The only negative would be the patio. It's between two buildings and has zero ambiance. They need to ad a gazebo and plants with strung lighting and nicer tables and than I'll sit out there. Eat inside and you'll be very pleased.
Best wine selection in Grand Junction...
and very good modern American cuisine, too, with an emphasis on local products. 626 Rood is one of my top 3 date restaurants in Grand Junction, and it's a good place for a business lunch, too.
Husband and I there on a Sunday night, before a Broncos game, so it was quiet. Food was delicious. A few locals had recommended the fries with cheese and truffle oil for an appetizer. Tasty!

It was a warm night and we sat outside on the patio. Tequila drinks were great! Vegetable appetizer was colorful and delicious. We enjoyed everything we ordered and left very satisfied.
Great Dining Experience
Beautiful restaurant, amazing and very personable service, good variety of food choices. Relaxed atmosphere.
Great food in Grand Junction.
We had a wonderful dinner of locally source food. Great service with very knowledgeable staff. Nice wine selection
Special local fare
Enjoyed great service, deliciously prepared and beautifully presented food and wine. The "surprise" local vegetables ( waiter said what he thought they would be, but said he never knew until they were served, since they had just arrived from local farms) were a special treat.

This is my favorite place to dine. Excellent selection of items on the menu. I had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection! Wine list is the best anywhere. Staff is well trained and friendly.
I can not say enough about the absolutely delightful experience that we had at 626 On Rood! The food was delicious, the wine recomendations were phenomenal and our server was a delight! She made our 2nd wedding anniversary and our first visit to Grand Junction, very special! Everything was perfect!!
626 on Rood offers a list of creative wine flights that pair well with their innovative menu. Total number of entrees is not overwhelming, but provides plenty of variety for any palette, and most ingredients are locally-sourced and fresh. The cherry-wine reduction sauce made their rack of lamb very memorable and the creme brulee had just the right touch of lavender. Kudos to Laura for being attentive but not annoying.
In a pit such as grand junction this stands out above and beyond all of the chain disasters we actually do have.
