About 410 Bank Street
A winding slate path through overhanging vines and tropical foliage leads to the historic 1840 Carriage house. Slowly spinning ceiling fans stir the aromas of French-New Orleans accented cooking and trawler-to-table seafood and steaks grilling over mesquite. Envision yourself in New Orleans or Key West. In the canopied garden, or on the candlelit veranda, dine on the exotic cuisine of Chef Chet Saign, whose creations include local-caught tuna, swordfish and mahi-mahi in fabulous sauces, elaborate entrees of local shellfish & lobster, and the justly famous smoked, grilled and blackened steaks and prime rib. Beyond the menu, a dozen or more seafood specials are offered nightly. The helpful staff, coolly attired in 410's signature tropical batik, makes you feel like you are dining on a private yacht. The fish dishes are very good and a little different with the sauces. The space around the tables and chairs is very limited. The turn over of tables was expedient.

This was the first time at 410 Bank Street. Having gone to just about every restaurant in Cape May, over the years, I don't know how we missed it. We are looking forward to heading back as soon as it reopens.

Our meal was great. My wife was highly impressed, and our server dean, couldn't have been nicer or more professional, service was as good as the food. We will back!

Look forward to going here every year. Never disapointed. Worth the trip.
Cast a Spell Here!
Been dining here for several years, and simply love the VooDoo shrimp. Just admit that I rarely sway away from that dish, although I do try different appetizers. Everything is always awesome. My only complaint is that the tables are very small and everyone is very close to you. Other than that, awesome place!

The food was delicious - unique menu items, local options, great desserts. A romantic but not over-the-top ambience, great service from Dean. Very worthwhile!
My Husband took me to 410 Bank Restaurant for my birthday while we were visiting Cape May. We are off to New Orleans at the end of the month, so he thought why not try a little creole style food. Well, if New Orleans is half of what 410 was, I better start to diet now!! The food at 410 was superb!! Our waiter was delightful (he goes to Florida when it shuts down for the season) and the ambience wonderful. I almost licked my plate the food was so delicious. I had the Chilean Sea Bass, while my husband had the lobster and scallops in a sauce - all were out of this world!! I wish 410 Bank was closer to my home, we would be regulars!!!!! YUMMY!!!!!

We were somewhat disappointed, my dish was not really hot, but my husband's dish was good just too large a portion and our table was in a dark chilly corner
The food is excellent along with the portion size and presentation.

Wonderful staff and a creative and delicious menu from appetizers to desserts. There is something for everyone on the menu although the Creole/Caribbean inspired dishes are their specialty and totally worth the trip! One of the best 3 restaurants in Cape May for high-end food!
Excellent food..lovable staff!!!

Love the food here!
I made sure to get a reservation before the season ended. My husband and I got a window seat overlooking the garden entrance. Very relaxing. I ordered lobster bisque and the tuna special. Both were amazing. My husband ordered sauteed mushrooms and New Orleans shrimp. He said his food was OK, nothing that we don't make at home but I don't ever remember making New Orleans shrimp. I think the food was too spicy for him. The desserts were very good. The waitress seemed to be there every 5 minutes asking us how we liked the food. Too much attention for us. Everyone was very pleasant, though, and we will go back again.

Love the Cajon Seafood Gumbo
We have been dining here for 20+ years. Food is always impeccable. Service is always the informative & attentive. Wines are the best (we bring our own).
A good choice, still enjoyable. Has been there a long time.
Another great meal and service was excellent , We go here about 3 times a season and have never been disappointed. I would like to thank the staff for a very good meal and good service
Slipping a bit
Food this time was lacking in seasoning as if there was a totally different chef in kitchen. While one of the apps the shark was very good, another, the mushrooms, was average.
Best food in town
Food was fantastic, service (Dean) was outstanding. The crawfish soup is my personal favorite. The menu is clear and easy to read, our server was well versed in all the dishes and a great sense of humor. All the staff were courteous and polite. 6 stars!
Gourmet and More!
The 410 "experience" is the ultimate in epicurean delight, gourmet at its best, pleasing in presentation, and an enjoyment for the most discriminating palate, served in a delightful atmosphere to complement your dining satisfaction. Once you've been to 410 Bank Street you will return. The taste will linger as a special moment never to be forgotten. You will be tempted to keep it to yourself and yet will not be able to resist sharing it with a friend. It's enchanting, memorable, a pleasure worthy of your indulgence.
The most notable part of our experience was the food. We all had seafood apps and entrées. We started with the Oyster Stew and a Scallop Medallion dish with a wonderful sauce. Delicious. My entrée consisted of 8 large shrimp with a barbecue/seafood sauce. In the center of the plate was a mound of ordinary looking rice. But the memory of the taste of that first bite will remain with me for a long time. So buttery and delicious. We will be back!
Have not been here in years. Food was outstanding as usual. I had the John Doorey which was a special for the evening. Could not have been more pleased. Tried the mako shark appetizer, which was very tasty. My husband had the voodoo shrimp, excellent choice. Topped off the evening with chocolate, espresso layer cake. Happy days!

Really enjoyed our dinner. Excellent prix fixe restaurant week menu.
USED to be our favorite restaurant in Cape May
This used to be our favorite restaurant in Cape May. Since 1992, we've annually celebrated both birthdays & anniversaries here. However, this past weekend was just mediocre. Our request to be seated with Shane, who is an excellent waitperson and we've known for years, was ignored even though he had open tables in his area. There was not even an acknowledgement that we made this request. There was no acknowledgement of our 35th wedding anniversary &, yes, this was also noted in our reservation request. A simple 'happy anniversary' would have been nice. The host was not at all friendly and actually dismissive. The scallop appetizer was fantastic. The prime rib and mesquite grilled chicken were just ok even though they were a 5 star price. Overall, we're disappointed and it is becoming much easier to find better quality and fine dining experiences at other establishments in Cape May.
unfortunately, i ordered the yellow fin tuna with barbadian black bean sauce. the meat was not tender. the sauce had an overpowering herb that was also present in the portabello mushroom soup. this place was a bit of a disappointment after i heard so many raves about it.
Never Been Disappointing
My wife and I have been going to Cape May for years. It's a great place to be in September and there are a number of outstanding restaurants to choose from. Our favorite is 410. We've eaten there probably 10 or 15 times and never been disappointed. The food has always been interesting as well as delicious. The service has never been less than superb. It's the kind of place where you get to know the wait staff because many have been there for years. Its always crowded, the tables are a little close and it is sometimes a little noisy but none of that matters when you start eating.

The service is exceptional with a wait staff that has been working at 410 Bank for years a win, win for the diner and the business. The food is consistently good and fresh., blackened scallops melted in your mouth. When you make a reservation, you are seated promptly, a plus for me.
Good but not great
Our second visit this year. Very very cramped space makes indoor dining uncomfortable. When brought to our table it was obvious we may be able to just slide in if we squeezed a lot. We are not large people, 4 of us. Host didn't even address the setup and just left. We were very rushed to make decisions, food was presented well. Food was good, not awful, not great except for 1 meal which was the snapper which was rated very good. Food was not hot and my dinner included dessert which was never brought to me. Instead the server brought the check and rather than mention it, the noise was so loud we just chose to leave. We gave it another chance because last time, asparagus appetizer very good, one meal very good, one ok but again it was not hot when served and so loud and cramped it didn't make for a very good evening overall. Outdoor seating looks beautiful so if you go, request outdoor and you won't be as cramped and won't hear the noise.Lots of great places to dine in Cape May, some you probably wouldn't suspect to be so great.I would recommend this restaurant if someone wanted to sit outside and make sure you insist on having food brought while hot because it is a lovely and very romantic outdoor setting and food is good enough.
too tight a fit
table where our waiter took our bread so the entree would fit. wine bucket was on the floor under our table.

Excellent food and fantastic service! Loved our server! The blackened scallops were exceptionally tender and tasty!
Great Restaurant in Cape May
410 Bank Street is a great restaurant with such a varied menu, it's hard to decide what to order! I loved the fact each item was prepared in a unique way, using different types of herbs, spices or sauces. From the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts, everything was delicious. I can't wait for my next trip to Cape May to enjoy another dinner at 410. And, it's a BYOB, so don't forget to bring your favorite bottle of vino!

Great price fix menu at $35 during restaurant week at Cape May. The choices were excellent, outstanding portions. Our server Shane was terrific. Very friendly and knowledgable. The room was pretty noisy and the tables were set up so close that you felt you were eating family style. Except for that, a great meal.
Always great food
This week is 410's special price fix menu. Great choices, delicious and terrific price. Ambiance is hectic but interesting, service professional. Love that it is Byob and will certainly return.

Menu exciting; scallops and mako appetizers and salmon dinner great. Jamaican 'filet mignon' was chewy and garlicky. Server was knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant. Will definitely come back to try some more but probably stick to the fish.
Great menu, great food
Dined on a Saturday evening before the theater. The menu is varied and offers several unique dishes. My red snapper was excellent as was my husband's steak. However the tables are very close together and tiny so I felt almost clausterfobic when seated. The folks next to us actually moved their table so that we could be seated. (We are not large people. ) This lack of space left us uncomfortable which sadly diminished an otherwise lovely meal.
410 is a place to eat at least once in cape may. it has been there for years and offers top rated food for those that are looking for something different and like to try different styles of food. we have been going there for years and always leave happy that we were there. this is a byob so bring wine or you can buy cape may wine there.
We enjoyed our dining experience at 410 Bank Street! The server was fantastic! We really enjoyed tasty, well-prepared dinners. The desserts were also delicious. This is our second visit and we will return. The room outside gets very loud when full.
the wild mushrooms not so wild from what the waiter said they were going to be.
Great food and atmosphere!
We had a great dinner at 410 Bank Street. The food has a Louisiana Cajun flare and the specialty is seafood dishes but they also have a great variety of steaks. Wine is not served by the glass but by the bottle & wine is all from the Cape May winery. We ordered a bottle of Riesling which was really good. This restaurant is not cheap but well worth your money. The staff was exceptional and very friendly. Our server did an incredible job at discussing the menu and making us feel at home. For dinner, my husband & I had the blackened scallops served with a cream sauce and lobster bisque for appetizers; for our entrees, my husband had gumbo and I had a specialty fish dish with crab stuffed lobster. The sauces served with the dishes were incredible and seafood was cooked perfectly. Presentation of food exceeded our expectations. For dessert, we ordered two chicory coffees and the bourbon bread pudding...all was amazing! If you go, go before 410 Bank closes for the season in Oct.
I have come back to 410 Bank Street for many years and will continue to come back. My favorite restaurant in South Jersey. Highly recommend the fish here and enjoy the sauces. Wait staff is always great.
